Desaray Hickombottom
Senior Sales & Marketing Associate
What is your background?
I grew up between Corpus Christi & Houston, Texas. I moved to Fort Worth, Texas to attend Texas Christian University where I majored in Communication Studies and minored in Journalism. I worked in both marketing and advertising roles during my time there, so that started my interest in this industry.
What are your responsibilities at (un)Common Logic?
My responsibility is to facilitate anything for both the marketing and sales efforts for (un)Common Logic. I focus on our hood pop process, where we take a look "under the hood" of a prospect's digital marketing efforts and provide strategic and tactical insights into their digital marketing efforts, and our CRM. I also create and manage content for our social media accounts.
What's your favorite thing about working at (un)Common Logic?
The people, without a doubt! I have never felt more welcomed than when I first started here at (un)Common Logic. There are also endless opportunities to grow and learn, and the team here makes it all that much enjoyable.
What's the most challenging aspect of your job?
Dealing with unpredictable circumstances! Sometimes regardless of how planned out and thorough I try to be, I get a curve ball thrown at me. It’s all about finding the right balance and how you react to it though!
Anything big happening this year outside of work?
Traveling has always been a hobby of mine, but with everything going on I’ve had to put that on pause. I’m hoping to get a few more trips under my belt in the coming year to make up for the past two years!
What makes Austin special?
The fact that there’s always something going on! Whether it be trying a new restaurant or doing something outside like exploring the different trails or paddle boarding, you will never run out of things to do.
What's the story you love to tell or the trick you love to do at parties?
Both of my parents have dimples, so naturally I ended up with huge dimples as well. My dimples are so deep that you can drink water out of them with a straw!
